*Mumbai —* Mumbai's local train network will face significant disruptions for the next two days due to crucial upgrade work on the 6th line between Goregaon and Kandivali. The disruption, scheduled to begin at 11:00 PM tonight and last until 4:00 AM on August 30, will affect services on August 28 and 29.

Western Railway has announced the cancellation of 22 suburban trains and changes to the schedules of four additional trains to accommodate the infrastructure improvements. Vineet Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, confirmed that the service interruptions are part of a five-hour block essential for the upgrade.

### Ongoing and Future Works

This disruption is part of a broader 35-day construction project to add a 4.5-kilometre 6th line between Goregaon and Kandivali. The project, which began on August 27, will involve five major blocks, some lasting up to 10 hours on weekends. The work is expected to conclude by October 6, with a break scheduled from September 11 to 17 for the Ganpati festival, according to WR General Manager Ashok Kumar Misra.
